This property in Wool was on the receiving end of a gorgeous new kitchen and dining area and we were thrilled to be involved in the project. Originally a separate kitchen and dining room, the homeowner decided the space would be much better suited to an open plan kitchen and dining area, meaning a knock through was called for.
After the wall was taken care of, we were called in to carry out all of the necessary 1st fix wiring. The project required the installation of 6 new circuits for the kitchen, dining room, hob, oven, microwave and lighting, as well as a new 18th Edition metal clad consumer unit with individual 30mAmp RCD protection.
With this in place, the plastering and fitting of the kitchen units could be completed, allowing us to then begin the 2nd fix stage, which involved wiring the sockets and lighting. As it was a completely new kitchen, it was the perfect opportunity for the homeowners to ensure the lighting was absolutely perfect.
The introduction of a kitchen island was a fantastic design choice, bringing style and functionality in equal measures, and some bespoke kitchen lighting was in order to really highlight this excellent feature. We installed under worktop lights, plinth lights and elegant light fixtures above the island, which all come together to turn it into a stunning focal point.
As well as this we installed lights under the cupboards and worktops throughout the rest of the kitchen, complementing the fittings perfectly and giving the room a warm, comforting feel. The kitchen also benefited from LED downlights and a brand new extractor hood. Within the dining area we installed a TV socket and aerial, allowing for a wall mounted TV for mealtime entertainment.
This project is a brilliant example of the impact bespoke kitchen lighting can have, bringing charm and taking this lovely kitchen to a whole new level of sophistication.
